Did you know that tiny flying insects flap their wings hundreds of times each second? That fast wing-fluttering is what makes the famous… Buzz buzz buzz!
2. Flies Are Brilliant Flyers
Oh my whiskers… flies are some of the best flyers in nature! They can zoom, stop suddenly, and change direction in a flash — almost like they’re playing tag in the air.
3. Flies Have Special Super Eyes
Flies don’t see the world like we do… They have compound eyes, made of lots of tiny parts, so they can spot movement very quickly. That’s why they’re so good at dodging about!
4. Hoverflies Love to Hover
Hoverflies are amazing little insects that can float in one spot, just like a tiny helicopter. They often visit flowers and help carry pollen — I think they are gentle garden helpers.
5. Butterflies Taste With Their Feet!
This one makes me giggle… Butterflies can actually taste through their feet when they land on plants! It helps them find the perfect place to rest or sip nectar.
6. Gardens Are Full of Winged Visitors
