About Ninny

Hello, I’m Cheryl — though most little ones know me as Ninny, a name lovingly gifted to me by one of my granddaughters. My grandchildren — seven in total, but soon to be eight, from little ones to grown-up young hearts — are each a joy to me and a constant source of inspiration. It is from their magic — and from dreams, sparkles, and everyday delights — that I gather the stories I share with children.

I create imaginative stories and gentle, playful illustrations for families who want calm, wholesome moments together. Whether you’re reading at bedtime, snuggling on the couch, or watching a story on YouTube, my wish is simple:

“to give children a warm place to land”

For over a decade, I’ve written hundreds of poems and stories inspired by nature, kindness, and the magical way children see the world. As a mum, grandmother, and lifelong creative, I understand how precious those small moments of connection are — the giggles, the big questions, the “please … just one more” at bedtime.

In a digital world full of noise, I’ve chosen a different path:
a place of soothed imaginations, gentle rhythms, and stories that feel like home.
